Hi-Tech Background

1. Open a new project and apply a black background by pressing D then alt and backspace.

2. Apply a lens flare by going to: Filter>Render>Len Flare.

3. You will be prompted by a window like the one below.



4. Move the lens flare to where you think looks best and click ok. Do this 4 or 5 times however moving the lens flare to different areas of the background.

Once you have done this your screen should look like the one below.



5. Now we will apply a chrome affect to your background to blend the lens flares together. To do this go to:

Filter> Sketch> Chrome

6. You will be prompted by a window like the one below.



Play around with the detail and smoothness bars until you are happy, Then click ok.

7. Your screen should now look like the one below.



8. Now it is time to add some color to your background, To do this press Ctrl + U a screen like the one below will appear, make sure you select colorize.



I used the settings:

Hue: 202

Saturation: 100

Lightness: -22

Once you are happy with your color click ok.

9. Your image should now look like the one below.
